|Recommended: NoA Legacy For Improvement — The Legacy is a well-constructed building that offers significant comfort in the Ann Arbor area. However, with the almost 1,800-plus rent, I would expect a better experience with staff. First, I must say that the housekeeping staff is wonderful. The environment is often spotless, and these ladies are very kind and considerate. Next, the maintenance staff often enters your apartment unannounced. The building will argue that they sent a maintenance text which no one ever seems to get , and their argument ends there. Regardless of how many times someone says they did not receive a text, they are comfortable allowing this problem to persist without any means of rectifying the situation. Additionally, I have randomly come out of my room in a towel to find maintenance unannounced in the apartment. When I called The Legacy, they mentioned that for smaller maintenance issues which I did not contact them for , maintenance can come in whenever they want. This is incorrect. In Ann Arbor, maintenance cannot enter your apartment without your permission, except in the case of a true emergency like a fire, etc. . For non-emergencies, landlords are typically required to provide a reasonable amount of advance notice usually 24 hours before entering. I repeatedly mentioned that I was uncomfortable with this arrangement as a single female in the apartment alone , and instead of making any adjustments, the behavior just continued. The Legacy also has many difficulties in responding and actually getting individuals moved in. I had to constantly call, email, and double-check that they had all of my materials. I was given the approval to move in on different occasions, only to be stopped on my way to the building because I was missing something which no one had notified me of previously . The Legacy has the potential to be a wonderful place, and in time it will be. However, first they must work on the smaller communications with their residents. While the property is beautiful, convenient, and well-maintained, it is not the only luxury building in Ann Arbor. Given these very real issues with the building staff, they have the potential to loose out on future customers for problems that can be easily fixed.
response from property -Hi Abbigail,
You may not have received the notification because you recently relet the space from our current resident.
You are in a 5-bedroom apartment, and one of your roommates contacted us with questions about her utilities. As a result, our maintenance team entered the unit to check that your meter was running properly.
We currently have a 39% renewal rate, compared to the Ann Arbor average of 20–25%. I know you've only been here for two weeks, but I hope we can change your mind about your stay with us.
Have a great weekend!
|Recommended: YesGood Place To Live In Ann Arbor — Generally a good place to live in Ann Arbor. It's safe and comfortable. However the fire alarm is annoyed from morning to midnight. Also the shower water is usually getting cold.
Expect the legacy to offer more bonus i.e. snack, event... to let living experience more worthy as a fancy apartment.
Thank you for sharing your experience at our apartment community. You will be happy to know that the fire marshal reset the panel in February, resolving the issue.
|Recommended: YesOct 22 Review — Only complaint is the noise at night.
Not that anyone here is at fault. It’s usually someone outside

Thank you so much!
|Recommended: NoGetting There But Not There Yet — The staff is excellent, especially the guys in maintenance, but one of the more senior staff members, in particular, the man, came across as somewhat rude and seemed to be trying to swindle us with the Storage Unit.
The apartment is great, despite a few quality issues it is spacious, and the fixtures are solid, besides the shower head, which is not powerful enough. Also, a few small construction issues I put in our apartment condition form.
The other gripes with this place were promises for table tennis, pool, and a sports simulator. It feels like some cost-cutting occurred. Actual community spaces are often small and crowded. The gym, for example, doesn't even have cables, something that is mandatory in a gym, yet it has no space in the small gym. Let's just say the Legacy was advertised like the Verve, but in terms of public amenities, it was more like other Landmark properties not a strength .
Most importantly, though, I can't recommend this place until the elevator issues are sorted. Waiting 20 minutes in total to go up and down the elevator is incredibly frustrating and often means I might have to be late to classes, etc.
Thank you for sharing your detailed insights about your experience at our community. We are delighted to hear your appreciation for our dedicated team, especially our maintenance crew. Your feedback regarding the Storage Unit interaction and the quality of certain fixtures is valuable, and we will ensure these are addressed appropriately. We are committed to enhancing our community spaces and amenities, and your observations will guide us in prioritizing future enhancements. We are actively working to resolve the elevator issues to ensure a more seamless experience for our residents. Your satisfaction is our priority, and we aim to provide a comfortable and enjoyable living environment. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work towards these improvements.

|Recommended: YesFirst Review — I really like living here so far overall The amenities are so nice, I love studying and hanging out in the clubroom or hammock patio, and the pool being heated even more now is super nice, i've gone for a few swims. There's only been a handful of problems thus far, mainly the recurring fire alarms which hasn't really been addressed, and the elevators which seem to be better lately though.
